• Direct advocacy to enhance the U.S. leadership on human rights; cultivating contacts with governments, diplomats, human rights defenders, academics, lawyers, faith leaders and experts to advance the objectives at Human Rights First.
• Formulating and implementing policy recommendations; expert knowledge on: UN mechanisms, US human rights policies; fighting discrimination, upholding religious freedom, in-depth knowledge of different legal cultures on standards of freedom of expression, hate speech, incitement legislation and abuses caused by blasphemy laws.
•Interviewed by media on polices related to Human Rights First (TV, newspapers, radio) and op-ed publications.
• Speaker and moderator of debates at events, representing Human Rights First (for example: at the Open Society Institute, the Centre for the Study of Islam and Democracy, the U.N. Human Rights Council, the Freedom Online Coalition, Brookings and panel debates at universities).

• Advising all Liberal Democrat Members of the European Parliament in their work on the parliamentary committee of the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee: anti-racism legislation, anti-discrimination, EU immigration policies, counter-terrorism legislation, the fight against organized crime and human trafficking, gender equality.
• Drafting reports and amendments, negotiating resolutions on behalf of the Liberals with other political parties, ensuring the coherence of political positions, preparing voting lists for the members, writing speeches for members, networking with colleagues from other political parties, campaign strategy, advising parliamentarians on politically controversial or important reports, developing contacts with the Council and the Commission as well as embassies, think tanks and NGOs in order to exchange information.
• Proposing topics and organizing from scratch public hearings with expert speakers, in presence of over one hundred members of the European Parliament (including simultaneous interpretation in several languages, networking cocktails and media outreach).

PRESS OFFICER-ALLIANCE OF LIBERALS AND DEMOCRATS-EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT (March 2005-2006)

• Writing press releases and hosting press briefings with correspondents of the positions adopted by the ALDE.
