2 years experience working for:
- UNICEF Tanzania (1 year temporary appointment) in Communications, Advocacy and Partnerships - as Partnerships Specialist handling relations with MPs, NGOs and Private Sector (Advocacy and Fundraising)- Main achievements: Initiated partnerships with key corporations from the Banking, ICT, Hotel and Consumer Goods sectors in Tanzania to support UNICEF programmes, signed an MoU with Stanbic Bank for a multi-faceted 3-year partnership in School Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. I also led, in collaboration with local NGOs, an advocacy process with 26 leading MPs on 10 priority areas for children in Tanzania with a view to increase budget allocation for children and their families and improve national legislations.
- UNICEF Geneva in CSR and Business and Human Rights agenda, focus on Business and Children's Rights. - Main achievements: organised and contributed to a capacity-building workshop on CSR/Sustainability, development training material on business and children's rights, participated in the launch of the Child Rights and Business Principles (Tripartite Initiative UNICEF-Save the Children- UN Global Compact) and provided technical advice on international sustainability frameworks and reporting tools.
10 years experience in international business development/sales roles in the private sector, based in Geneva and covering Middle-East/North Africa, Eastern and Western Europe. I managed major multinational accounts in local markets and at Headquarters, developed markets and managed international projects with multifunctional teams in diverse geographical areas.
2 years NGO experience (International Commission of Jurists and International Institute of Humanitarian Law) - mainly conference research work and conference coordination.
Education:
Certificate of Advanced Studies in Corporate Social Responsibility/Sustainability - University of Geneva (2010).
Bachelor degree in International Affairs (Political Science, Law, History and Economics - 1993). Master's Degree in Public International Law (1995) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva (CH).
Primary/secondary education in French schools in Switzerland, Syria and Japan. French Baccalaureate in Philosophy and Languages obtained at the Lycée Franco-Japonais de Tokyo (Japan) (1989).
