Professional Experience: |
My passion for education stems from having witnessed first-hand the powerful role it plays in changing people’s lives. I have significant leadership and curriculum experience in the education sector, a track record of outstanding results in transforming inner-city schools, and outstanding people skills. I believe I can be an asset in the following ways:
School leadership: I have held several leadership roles in education including three years as Vice Principal across twenty sixth form schools in the Harris Federation, Strategy Board Advisor at the United Education Lisbon Hub and as a graduate of the Teach First leadership development programme.
Knowledge of curriculum and learning: as Vice Principal, I led a team of subject experts and oversaw the transition of the national curriculum from a modular to linear specification in line with government guidelines. Meticulous planning, creative thinking, effective management of teams, efficient allocation of resources were some of the key elements I placed a strong emphasis on to successfully deliver this project.
Use of data to improve results: having taken the lead on data analysis across schools, I identified areas of underperformance and implemented appropriate intervention strategies resulting in exam results significantly above national average.
Strategic role involving K12 and Ebacc systems: the role at United Lisbon education hub encompassed liaising with ed-tech companies and other external partners to build partnerships to deliver a world class education programme to learners. I have also helped assess the company’s operational and strategic performance and advised senior executives on strategic decisions during the current COVID-19 climate.
Negotiations: I negotiated with the Education Funding Agency and saved £2.5 million in funding for my employer.
