Public Affairs Specialist


Public Affairs Specialist (6 months contract) – Nestlé Headquarters, Vevey, Switzerland

To complete the Public Affairs Department of our International Headquarter in Vevey (Switzerland), we are currently looking for a temporary Public Affairs Specialist to fulfil a 6 months contract running from May to November 2010.
 
Main responsibilities:
 
Development and execution of interactive communications programmes regarding Nestlé’s business strategy of Creating Shared Value (CSV). In particular this will require sourcing and licensing of third party video content (and helping to create and repurpose Nestlé video content) for www.creatingsharedvalue.org
Participation in communications strategy development process
Sourcing and writing clear, thought provoking written content on Nestlé’s approach to Creating Shared Value and Nutrition, Health and Wellness.
Speech writing for senior Nestlé executives on occasion
Maintaining and updating databases, intranet and internet entries relating to Nestlé’s Creating Shared Value and Nutrition Health and Wellness activities- including written, pictorial and film content.
Contacting markets to gather such information as is necessary to accomplish these key tasks
Working with Media Relations and IT teams (and their contractors) to develop database, intranet and internet tools and appropriate functionalities
Writing internet entries for approval by line manager and sourcing illustrations to support entries; then publishing entries and keeping list of entries up to date.
Web based interaction with external stakeholders
Day to day responsibility for maintenance of Public Affairs Opinion formers’ database
Writing up additional case history material to support Creating Shared Value platform initiatives
Day to day control of the graphics process around CSV-related, Nutrition and Public Health congresses
Representing Nestlé at certain events, including exhibits
Help with logistical arrangements for 2-3 congresses per year – especially with regard to capturing presentations on film
Help with logistical arrangements for film and photographic content gathering exercises
Maintenance and updating of hard copy record of both nutrition congress and CSV related communications activity.
Working with team intranet admin to ensure relevant areas of Public Affairs intranet are constantly updated.
Helping management with presentation preparation and, where relevant, preparation of speaking notes and speeches
Helping ensure smooth project management of CSV reporting, including translation management
Ideal Profile:
 
University degree, preferably in a communications-related discipline
Mother tongue: English, other languages an asset
Excellent writing skills
3-5 years experience in a comparable role in-house or in a communications agency
Ideally a recognised qualification in web publishing, or high level of familiarity with publishing tools
Enthusiasm, dedication and determination to succeed
