Professional Experience:
Nurse with extensive experience as health program manager (13y) and field humanitarian aid (6y) mostly in African countries.
Program management: extensive and strong experience including strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, human resource management, representative tasks with governmental institutions, donors and civil society, reporting and participation to international events and conferences.
HIV/AIDS/PMTCT: For the last 10 years, gained a strong expertise in HIV/AIDS and mother and child health (MCH) programs, implementing and managing a large prevention of mother to child transmission program (PMTCT) in Mozambique in 5 provinces, 250 sites (ICAP, 2005-2012) and managing HIV/AIDS clinics providing comprehensive care including antiretroviral therapy and expert patients approach (DSF 2003, MSF 2003-2005.
Technical assistance: Between 2006 and 2012, provided technical assistance to the Ministry of Health in the field of PMTCT as a member of the national PMTCT task force; actively participated to the revision and development of national PMTCT norms, of national PMTCT, counseling and nutrition manuals and training material, and I was regularly involved as trainer of regional trainees in the field of PMTCT.
Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and Quality improvement (QI): extensive expertise in HIV/AIDS/PMTCT data analysis and decision making based on routine programmatic data; also provided strong technical support to IT team to develop M&E tools for the HIV/AIDS/PMTCT programs (data base, electronic patient tracking system, graphs) and to the MoH to review national M&E registers. Implemented a quality improvement program at health facility level based on cohort follow-up including training of health staff to use QI strategy.
PMTCT clinical mentoring program: coordinated the development of the training guidelines, trained health staff as mentors and implemented the strategy at two PMTCT model centers.
Education:
Currently studying for a Master 2 in Public Health and Environment, specialty Interventions in Health Promotion at Henri Poincaré University, Nancy, France.
After a nursing diploma in 1986, I have studied tropical medicine in Belgium (certificate of the Prince Leopold Institute, 1989), public health in 1998 (university diploma, Nancy, France) and modules of the Health System Management course at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2005 and 2006.
Over time, I have attended numerous short courses trainings in the field of HIV/AIDS, research on humans subjects, management and mother and child health.
